Best restaurants in London for special occasions

For a lot of people just visiting the Capital can be enough of a treat. Seeing the likes of London Bridge, Canary Wharf, Covent Garden and Buckingham Palace throughout the day. It doesn’t matter if you have been for the 10th or even 1st time, there is something special about visiting London that continues to draw people back to it. In fact London is the most popular tourist destination in the whole world, attracting around 30 million visitors from other countries each and every year.

It’s when you want to start looking for somewhere to eat that it can get a bit tricky. Sure it’s easy to just go looking for the nearest Wetherspoons or wander around the many London Restaurants in East London but what if you are looking for that added bit of sparkle. Where do you go to find the best restaurants in London for special occasions?

Trying to save ‘money savvy’ I don’t think will help you in a situation such as this. I remember trips I’ve done to Paris where it just doesn’t pay to be horrified at the cost of eating in their restaurants. It’s a Capital city and all Capitals are expenses. London is no different in this regard.

With so many restaurant recommendations out there I thought it would be good to look at 3 that would take even a regular date night to another level!

Aqua Shard Bar

This skyline restaurant and bar offers some of the best views in London while your wine and dine up on the 31st floor! The place itself holds around 200 covers and offers everything from breakfast and dinner through to specialist cocktail experiences. This is a hugly popular dining experience so make sure you contact them early to book as this isn’t something you can just do ‘on the fly’ in London, especially during weekends and the Summer / tourist season.

Quaglino’s

Now this luxurious dining location has actually hosted none other than The Queen. With amazing interiors to the very highest of standards and with food offering a Middle Eastern twist it really offers an expereince like no other. It also has a very late opening time which is until 1am Mon-Thur and 3am and Friday and Saturdays with live music on the Grand Stage from 9pm so it’s the perfect place to go and warm up for a night on the tiles in London.

Craft London

This fantastic restaurant as a shining beacon to everything British. A three-floor extravaganza with a cafe space, restaurant, stunning cocktail bar and shop the entire place offers homage to British textiles while offering views over the Thames and Canary Wharf from the skyline cocktail bar. Dishes include the likes of fresh heritage tomato salad, egg-yolk tagliorini with crab, Norfolk black chicken with broad beans and peas, Swaledale T-Bone steak for two and a Craft London burger with house pickles. Offering late opening hours until Midnight this is again a fantastic place to visit at the very end of your London experience and will put a smile on your face no matter what the weather during your visit.
